Mallards
Menu
On this homepage, you will find the complete menu of Mallards from Bloomington. At the moment, there are 197 meals and drinks available.
At this restaurant, diners find a mixed bag of culinary experiences. While some enjoyed delicious Southern-inspired dishes and seafood, others were disappointed by tasteless sides and slow service. Highlights included the Elote Corn Fritters and an impressive Key Lime Pie, while the lobster bisque and risotto received criticism for lacking richness and flavor. The atmosphere is inviting, enhanced by large windows and a bustling vibe, but the service can be hit-or-miss, with dedicated staff occasionally dampened by kitchen miscommunications. Overall, guests appreciated the pleasant environment and some standout dishes, but improvements in food quality and service consistency are needed.

The Shrimp and Grits at Mallards is the meal I’ve been dreaming of, and it definitely lived up to the hype! They serve some of the best around. My friends tried the smash burgers, and they were excellent too. The sangria was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of zest. It can be a bit loud, but you quickly get used to it. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. View all feedback.
What Mary Mallozziberg dislikes about Mallards:
Our server was rude and gave very poor service. It seemed that since we were not ordering apps or alcohol, he felt we were unimportant. He did not take our order until we had been there for 45 minutes. Likewise, we waited 30 minutes for our check with no contact in between. View all feedback.
We had a wonderful lunch experience! The menu offered a fantastic variety of options at reasonable prices. Our waiter, Tony, was excellent.
The lemon chicken was absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The fish and chips were also fantastic, with a light, crispy coating on the flavorful fish. The salad was nice, too. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. I will definitely be back!
Still waiting on the food, but I thought I 'd leave a note now on the extremely pleasant hostess that admonished us for not having a reservation. We explained that when we called they said no reservation was needed. She told us she prefers if we do whatever the hell that means. I 'd prefer she do her job without a bunch of attitude but we can 't always get what we want canwe? There was ample seating available. Here 's hoping the food 's better than the greeting. Food overall was good even if theportions seemed a bit meager. Caesar salad was well dressed and the dressing was tasty. Fish fry was fresh and crispy althoughaesthetically it lacked that GBD exterior. Fries were solid and the coleslaw (which is often the weakest link in fish fries)was good as well.
Great service, nice atmosphere and good food. The lobster roll was good, although the bread was kind of ordinary. The cocktails were pretty decent as well. I’d consider the restaurant in between casual and nicer dining, but not quite to the fine dininglevel. I’d come back to try more things.
