Once celebrated as the finest chippy in Blackpool, this eatery has seen a decline in recent times. Patrons have expressed disappointment over small portions, underwhelming flavors, and inconsistent quality since the change in ownership. Critical feedback highlighted issues such as greasy battered fish, bland curry sauce, and reheated chips. We recently had the most delicious fish and chips we've had in a while at this restaurant. We will definitely be returning in the future.
I can't even describe the food because before 7:15 they stopped taking orders. I just wanted curry and chips! This is not a good way to run a local business, especially with so many similar businesses nearby.
I ordered a large portion of fish, a corned beef scallop (which was delicious and a must-try if you like corned beef), large chips (enough for three of us), a battered bigfoot, large mushy peas, and a large spicy curry. The total came to £19.38, and we were all completely satisfied and full. It was great value for money, and honestly, the tastiest fish and chips I've had in a long time. Fishers Plaice is definitely my new go-to chip shop.
This chippy in Blackpool is certainly not up to par. We ordered two fish and chips with curry sauce, expecting large portions as advertised. However, the fish was disappointingly small inside rock-hard batter, with an unpleasant taste and mysterious black bits. The curry sauce was bland and had a texture similar to wallpaper paste. The chips seemed old, reheated, and soggy. We used to enjoy this place under previous management, but it has since gone downhill. Save your money and stomach and visit Onslow Chippy around the corner instead.
Great food, friendly staff and large portions. The food is cooked to order and is one of the few chip shops that sells fresh fish.
