I visited this restaurant as a single woman, so I sat at the bar. When I asked the bartender where a certain rose wine came from, he said Germany and I had to ask for the region. Rude response number one. I ordered a small plate and a main course. They arrived together. When I commented about that, the bartender's answer was that I should have told him that I didn't want both courses together. Rude response number two. I did make my concerns known and the bartender did apologize, but since he didn't offer a drink or dessert on the house,I have to think that the apology wasn't sincere. I won't return or recommend this restaurant to my friends. Too bad, as the food was quite good. There are too many nice restaurants to waste my time on one with bad service.
There are many good restaurants around Bergmannstrasse, but it is absolutely worth your time to walk two blocks south to eat at Peter Schlemihl. The ambiance felt cozy and lively, without being overwhelming. Staff are excellent - helpful and very friendly, but not intrusive. They speak English if you need. Then there is the food - oh my, the food was delicious, and beautifully presented. Lots of flavors, thoughtfully created, a contemporary German menu. The cost of dining here is amazingly affordable; our three entrees were all less than 9 Euros each, and including a shared salad and three large beers our tab was barely 40 Euros (and they did accept a credit card). So glad we came to eat here, and I hope we can return before we leave.

The restaurant has no very good access. As already described, one is very striving for its guests, it is almost still a place found. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. At Corona times, attention is paid to sufficient space between the tables. The card is compressed, but everyone can find something here. On Friday there is also a fish dish and on Sunday pork roast. The spinach dumplings and the late zle are excellent, the portions sufficient. We'll come back until we tried the card completely:
