I gave my gf and son a tour through berlin and wanted to introduce them to some classic German meat dishes. nante eck has different meat dishes and we went with the blackshaxe and a sausage plate. the meats were all very good and above all the haxe must have been great because I still use them after ten days after visiting something as reference, as we are now in the united states. Before arriving at the door of Brandenburg, we found this packed restaurant that we were about to leave behind the unbelievable poorly educated bartender behavior (the one in the picture). I had only the worst eating of my life, the pork had a heavy smell, they didn't even peel it well
Rather disappointing. The Curry Wurst did not have a curry sauce but something tomatoey, the Wiener Schnitzel tasted rather funny, rather ‘yuk’. But hey, after a long day walking around lovely Berlin we just wanted food, warm food. The guy serving us was running around...trying to keep everybody happy and since it was rather busy, we compliment him on still being very nice and patient while we were debating which food to choose. Awful food, meat hard as rock. Unfriendly waiters, expecting the customers to understand german. The worst meal and service ever.
As a Berliner, you naturally enjoy your local cuisine. The food was good, but a bit dry (the meat skewer). Prices are naturally higher due to the location on Unter den Linden, but that 's to be expected. It 's worth a try.
I enjoyed a traditional German dish at this restaurant and it was truly delicious: the flavors were authentic and generous, perfectly complemented by the new wine I tasted.
