Tucked away in North Berkeley, this Sichuan restaurant has garnered attention for its flavorful offerings and generous portions. Diners rave about dishes like spicy tofu, cumin lamb, and mapo tofu, often praising their authentic taste and reasonable prices. While some patrons have encountered service hiccups and occasional dish inconsistencies, many agree that the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming dining experience. Regular visitors appreciate the restaurant’s commitment to quality, making it a go-to destination for both traditional and American-style Chinese cuisine. Overall, it's a delightful spot for anyone seeking satisfying Sichuan flavors in the Bay Area.
Love the atmosphere and the beer braised duck, they absolutely nailed this dish. Dry stautee beef and cold chicken is also really good.
Can't really recommend this one: Moo Shu Pork: dry tasteless pork/dried out pancakes Green Onion Pancakes: bland and relatively flavorless Kung Pao Chicken: No kick, overly cornstarchy Sweet/Sour Chicken: OK, not memorable Potstickers: Unrecognizable as potstickers, some weird flat fried dry thing with what looked like a little poop floating about inside. Not a restaurant I would revisit.
Best Chinese food in Berkeley, Albany, and El Cerrito area! However, be ready to eat some spicy food.Restaurant is ran by the owner and he is very friendly. Atmosphere is also very traditional and nice. Nice spot to have a bite peacefully.
Food was amazing. Ordered the cumin beef and mapo tofu. Amazing traditional flavors with hugeee portions! I was hesitant about their general tsos as this is always a hit or miss sometimes, anywhere you go. But wow was it amazing. Fresh, crispy, perfectly sauced all on a bed of fresh broccoli. You get your money's worth here. Good flavor, big portions, and great service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This is the go-to chinese restaurant for me and my wife. The food is excellent and the service is great. We try different things everytime and haven't been disappointed so far. Bonus: the atmosphere is nice as well with intricate paintings and artwork lining the walls. Highly recommend 5s. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
