ThoroughBread, a quaint neighborhood bakery, garners mixed reactions from visitors. While some rave about the delightful breakfast offerings, such as the burridough and various cookies, others express disappointment with service issues and cookie texture. The menu showcases an impressive range, yet certain customers find the cookies overly bready and not as gooey as expected. Service critiques mention a lack of allergy accommodations and a rigid sampling policy. Despite these concerns, many appreciate friendly staff and commend the bakery's signature sourdough. Overall, ThoroughBread retains charm with its dedicated baked goods, though it may require some fine-tuning.

Was Anonym at Thoroughbread a mag?
we live in barton hills and are so happy to have a bakery in the neighboring, especially with the world's largest, most fantastic cookies! they are gooey and totally filled with tasty stuff like bananas / nuts and pb View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Thoroughbread:
I came here expecting the world from all the amazing reviews from others, but when actually trying it myself, I was a little underwhelmed. I only tried the cookies, so maybe the bread is better, but the cookies weren’t exactly amazing. It’s very much super bready, and I wouldn’t consider them “cookies”. Staff was kind, so thats nice.Honestly, if you want good gooey cookies, just make some at home View all feedback.
Staple of the Zilker neighborhood. Best sourdough and cookies around!!! Don’t miss the PB&J cookie.
We ordered 150 of their stuffed cookies for our wedding. They were an absolute hit!! The ordering and pickup process was seamless, and I can’t stress enough how much people loved the cookies! Thank you, ThoroughBread!!!
I have lived in and around Barton Hills for over 4 years and just recently heard about Thoroughbred. There is nothing better than fresh bread and cookies as the smells are intoxicating. I bought a loaf of white bread because it is only offered Tuesdays/Thursdays and Saturdays I think), the egg, avocado and cheese burridough and I loaded up with cookies...chocolate chip also with pecans, Pb&J, and pumpkin cream cheese. All were very good, but the chocolate chip was the clear winner. Obviously, I am not the only one that agrees because when I arrived at 9:30am, there were only 2 cookies left!
