Nestled in Austin, this owner-run Puerto Rican food truck serves bright, authentic flavors—mofongo with chicharrón, pernil with arroz con gandules, yucca, tostones and a standout Cuban sandwich. Friendly, music-filled service and a communal, homey vibe make it a local favorite; the owner radiates warmth. Critics note a limited menu, occasional stock shortages, cash-only service and modest portion sizes for the price. Overall, a vibrant, comforting taste of the island for those craving bold Caribbean cuisine in a casual setting.
I cook better, but no pork just for me and my wife. eating was in order, but there was a lot of important ingredients in his season. very limited menu and even then, some items in the menu was not even available and I went early, so they didn't run out. Born and raised on the island, this is very far away from the real thing. it's like rican food gor gringos.
Amazing Cuban sandwich! One of the best I had! Friendly staff! Only note, the size was a little small for the price. If it was a little bigger, it?d be perfect!
I came back from my trip to PR missing the hell out of Puerto Rican food, and imagine my joy when I found the best place in Austin for it just down the street from me. The carne frita here is fried perfectly, the chicharron de pollo has the perfect amount of garlic (hint: lots), and the arroz con gandules and tostones are on point. Everything here is tasty and possibly even better than some of the originals I had in PR. The owner, Jose, is hilarious and awesome. Have him put on some salsa music while you feast on his mofongos and lechon asado.
Meh. I cook better, but not gonna roast a pork leg just for me and my wife. Food was okay, but lacking a lot of key ingredients in its seasoning. Very limited menu and even then, some stuff in the menu wasn't even available. And I went early, so it wasn'tthat they ran out. Born and raised in the island, this is very far away from the real thing. It's like rican food gor gringos.
