We arrived by chance and we discovered a great restaurant with an excellent price-quality ratio! In addition to the good Barbera d'Asti of the vintage of my son at a very fair cost! Complimenti
And no lunch time customers but we were told it was a good place to eat our lunch. We were dubious because we had passed the restaurant on our way to were we could have stayed. It is set along side a main road and outside it looks poorly maintained. The temperature registered by our car was 38C and inside the restaurant it was airless and quite impossible to enjoy a meal. The outdoor seating area was just as hot so we asked for water, and were not charged by the kind couple who owned the place. We read the menu but did not eat here.
The owner of the accommodation we stayed at recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We dined the two nights we were in Asti – first night there was my husband and I and one other couple and the next night, only us! The food was of very high quality as was the wine list. The first night they did not have a fruit juice for me but as we booked a table the following night, the hosts bought some especially for me. It is a husband and wife team with the husband the chef. The food was fresh and imaginatively presented. The house dessert on both nights was different and thoughtfully made. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
We passed this unpretentious restaurant en route to another, but lost our way and discovered we’d gone in a circle. Fed up and hungry we stopped, not expecting anything beyond the ordinary. We discovered a little gem, with a highly decorated chef plying his trade unassumingly. The tagliolini and truffle were fabulous, the meat ravioli in a little brodo a treat. Warm welcome, rustic setting, a perfect pick me up for tired and hungry travellers who know and like la buona cucina. And the wine cellar is worth an exploration. We’re still enjoying it!
We take one spagetti and ravioli, and bottle of water, the food was very average,water they brought in jar but not bottle and I think it was just tap water, beside us in restaurant ,beside us there was no one else, on bill was water for 2.5euro but after I noted that it wasn't in bottle but on jar,owner delete these 2.5 euro.
