Was Bertie S at Bruno&co. a mag?
I dined out on Friday night where I enjoyed the set menu priced at $55 per person. The food was outstanding, and the Pinot Noir was excellent as well. While the service was decent, the temperature in the restaurant was a bit chilly. The ambiance had a lively buzz that allowed for conversation without the need to raise our voices. Overall, it offered great value for the money. A lovely local spot! View all feedback.

We began our visit with coffees while we explored the menu, which had several new dishes since my last visit. In addition to their brunch and lunch offerings, they also present enticing weekly specials. One standout dish was the Coconut Chia, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The chia pudding was light and creamy, perfectly complemented by the crunch of toasted coconut and macadamia nuts. It was served alongside a berry compote and fresh fruit – I could easily enjoy this dish every day. The Chicken Burger was another highlight; the buttermilk fried chicken was scrumptious, topped with jalapeño salsa, sriracha mayo, lettuce, and tomato, alongside super crunchy beer-battered thick chips. The chicken had a crispy exterior while remaining tender inside, and we loved the spicy kick from the jalapeño salsa. We also tried a pasta dish from the specials board: spaghetti with broccoli, broccoli purée, chili, and garlic. It was a simple yet well-balanced dish bursting with flavor. We paired our meal with some refreshing freshly squeezed juices. The staff at Bruno Co are friendly and attentive, and they seem to know their regular customers well. The menu offers a wide range of options, along with intriguing weekly specials that keep things exciting for frequent diners. The team is passionate about their work and genuinely cares about their customers. Thank you so much for having us!
**Highlights:** Every pasta dish I've tried here competes with the best I've had in Melbourne and Italy—believe me, trust the Gooch. The carbonara was fantastic, possibly the best I've had in the lovely city of Melbourne. The chai latte was good, certainly better than most cafes, though not quite exceptional. The service was friendly and authentically Italian. The wait for food was reasonable, even when I was quite hungry. **Low Points:** Paying nearly $30 for a dish that consists of flour, water, pancetta, egg, and Parmesan feels a bit excessive. Additionally, be prepared for the presence of some rather pretentious individuals in Armadale, often discussing superficial topics like cosmetic procedures or their weight gain after a trip to Noosa. **Cheeky Gooch Note:** It's a nice street for a leisurely stroll, and perfect for taking your partner out. Outdoor seating is available as well. **Final Gooch Rating:** 4.5/5.0
Not typically around Armadale, but when I was invited in to this café I couldn't help but oblige! It was a very warm, enjoyable foodie experience.<br/ <br/ Food: While usually I'm one to go for a less traditional brunch pick; this time I opted for the classic Avo Toast. The avo was fresh, ripe, and accompanied with goat's cheese, a poachie and rose prosecco cured salmon, it was delicious. My brunch partner chose the Special at the time, a fish burger which should be on the new menu coming up! The burger was delectable, a perfect portion, with a generous serving of crispy yet tender, flavoursome fish and crunchy onion rings as a small side.<br/ <br/ Ambiance: The weather that day was beautiful, so we decided to take a seat in front of the café on some outdoor tables. Within the café itself were many keen customers, chatting enthusiastically while enjoying what drinks and dishes they chose.<br/ <br/ Service: The service at Bruno Co was definitely a highlight. The manager himself came out to greet and serve us, such a warm, friendly guy with a massive smile. He helped educate us about each of their dishes, the ingredients, the cooking and assisted us in making our well-loved choices. The drinks and dishes arrived very promptly and were presented well too!
