My initial attempt to leave a restaurant a one star review never done that before. First off, they didn't provide a contact number when I booked, only email, which was a real hassle. 1. During the booking, we made it clear that we'd be bringing our own wine for a special occasion. The restaurant agreed to a $30 fee for opening the bottle, which seemed fair. However, when we asked if we could snap a quick pic of the wine opening process (just the hand and the wine, no faces), they initially agreed, but later, without making a fuss, took our bottle to a corner to open it. When I asked again about taking a photo, the guy opening the wine had a really bad attitude and kept grumbling under his breath. By this point, my experience was already soured. 2. We had our 7 year old with us, and when we booked online, we couldn't choose between the regular and children's menus. We were stuck with the $125 per person adult set menu. 3. This was my third time at this restaurant; I visited in 2016 and 2021, but this time was beyond disappointing. The service hit a new low, and the food was downright terrible. I'm not a picky eater, but this time it was a struggle to even swallow. Both my 7 year old and my partner couldn't eat, and at one point, I felt like I was going to dry heave. Imagine frying a fatty piece of meat until it's halfway cooked and then drowning it in honey. Many dishes were just nauseating. I'm embarrassed about the $125 per person charge. 4. On my previous visits, I would have tipped $50 because the staff was genuinely friendly and made the dining experience enjoyable. But this time, during checkout, the guy who opened our wine rushed over and insisted we tip using the swipe machine. This made me so uncomfortable, and I don't want to deal with his bad attitude and complaints anymore. So, this is the last time I'll be a patron, and I tipped $50 as a final regrettable decision. The restaurant seems to rely on its unique view and has lost its touch with food quality. I'm a generous diner, but I have taste and sense. I won't be coming back.
125 and it was excellent Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$100–120 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Beautiful atmosphere and and unparalleled food, the view is superb and waiters are efficient and quick to action any requests.
The only reason why I gave 3 stars is because we were given seating 's with one of the worst view of the house. And we booked well over a month (Mar 4th) before dining April 7th. And we traveled so far to get there. This would be the managers faults since he said ...the best I can do for you . And the manage Derrick asked if I wanted to tip when I was paying (Embarrassing for the restaurant that they have to ask); I felt we deserved better than that. For those that doesn 't know the Aussie culture, we do not tip in Australia as locals. The minimum wages starts off really high, whereas, the wages as a wait staff in USA is low therefore we tip if the service was excellent. I 've been around Australia since Feb 2014 so I KNOW this. Excellent service deserves a tip. A tip is NOT earned by asking for it..... ANYWHERE in the world. The service and food was excellent. I will post a YouTube Food Travel review about this establishment soon to come.
