What Anonym dislikes about Zen Kitchen Adelaide:
The GF-Brooche-Hahn was delicious and the coffee was great at this restaurant. Unfortunately, despite requesting a child car and baby seat in the notes when booking, it was overlooked. My friends, who arrived before me, mentioned that the staff was not friendly when they asked for a table on the ground floor. They were told that the request was not checked in the system. Awesome building and very decent coffee. Welcoming service -- the staff were a little slow on service on a weekday morning, but did everything with a generous smile.
A beautiful light-filled space, top-notch service and great coffee are just a few of the things Crack has going for it. On top of that, there's the actual food - I tried the breakfast salad, which involved an inventive combination of tri-colour quinoa, baby tomatoes, roasted beetroot, crispy tortilla chips, slabs of fried haloumi and a poached egg. Could have done with a touch more spice (some chilli or herbs wouldn't have gone astray), but all in all, it was pretty damn delicious. And the coffee was one of the best I've had. Would return.
Did not feel welcome at all. They did not acknowledge us when we walked in, after a few minutes of waiting had to go up to the barista to ask whether they were still open. It was 2:30pm, close time at 4. It seemed like all they wanted to do was pack up and avoid serving us. There was barely anyone in there but it still took them almost 10 minutes to take our coffee order. Ended up just getting coffee and a very overpriced h&c croissant. Will not be going back.
