Blooming Grounds - Winona
Blooming Grounds
Description
Blooming Grounds stands out as a charming coffee shop in Winona, offering a cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. While the vegan menu is available upon request, some dishes fell short of expectations, as seen with the disappointing vegan buffalo wrap, which lacked its main ingredient, buffalo cauliflower. However, non-vegan options like pizza received positive reviews. Guests appreciate the extensive food selection, including favorites like the chicken olive artichoke panini and delicious pastries. With a variety of delightful drinks, such as lavender matcha and maple coffee, it is a welcoming spot for both locals and visitors seeking a relaxing experience.

I went to this restaurant and asked for the vegan menu, which was handwritten. I ordered the vegan Buffalo wrap, expecting it to have Buffalo cauliflower. However, when it arrived, it was just hot wilted lettuce soaked in Buffalo sauce with a small slice of tomato and a sprinkle of vegan cheese. There was no cauliflower in it at all, making it inedible. My partner ordered a non-vegan pizza, which he liked.
Blooming Grounds is such a cute and fun little coffee shop. I came here on a visit to Winona after questing for a coffee shop for several hours, and was not disappointed at all. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was great (I had the mushroom and brie soup with a side salad), and the drinks were great (I had the lavender matcha). The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, with plenty of seating options and a great vibe. I hope to visit Winona again soon, in which case I will definitely stop here for my beverage needs. ?
I recently relocated to downtown for work, so I decided to try Blooming Grounds for lunch. The food was excellent, but unfortunately, it wasn't what I ordered. I requested a Thai Peanut Wrap, and when my name was called, I picked up my food and walked five blocks back to the office. As I took a bite, I realized it wasn't what I had ordered. I had to refer to their menu to identify what I was eating and discovered that I had received a Pesto Wrap instead. While it was still tasty, I was really craving that peanut sauce. Next time, I'll be sure to double-check that my order is correct!
Cute and unique coffee shop. Love the ambiance and the library in the back. Pastries made fresh and whatever isn't sold that day will be on sale for $1 the next day. Definitely a must visit.
The good news?we called to place an order and the lady we spoke with on the phone was lovely, polite, and profession. Because of her, we were already liking this place. Unfortunately, though the menu sounds good, the sandwiches are really underwhelming. Ihad the pesto wrap; the chicken was good, but it was missing the balsamic, and the sun dried tomatoes were not rehydrated so itwas like trying to chew through leather (the best sun dried tomatoes are stored in olive oil to retain a tender texture). Myhusband had a gluten-free panini with chicken and artichokes, and his was a very sad-looking sandwich (definitely not worth$11). They do give a lot of chips to accompany the sandwiches, but the sandwich should be the hero. I think if they beefed uptheir sandwiches and added some additional ingredients for flavor, that might help.
