Today, the food was either unavailable, no longer fresh, or it was old and dry.
I had a disappointing experience with DoorDash. I requested extra crispy wings, but what I received were soggy instead. I ordered teriyaki chicken, and instead, they sent chicken skewers with a mountain of fried rice, as if that could make up for it. The gyoza were also soggy and tasteless, as if they had been boiled and left sitting. My previous orders had generally been great, so this was quite a letdown.
However, I found it strange when our waitress abruptly picked up the check she had placed on our table earlier. She returned a moment later, attached the check to the card tray, slammed it down on the table, and walked away without saying a word. It was clear she wanted us to leave, but I couldn't understand why. As we were getting ready to go, she passed by us, and I politely asked if we had overstayed our welcome. She rudely responded with a curt "yes" and walked off. It's worth noting that we are both of normal weight; I'm a vegetarian and had only ordered a salad and vegetables, and we had only consumed coffee while we talked—without going back for additional food. If there was a policy requiring us to leave within a certain timeframe, they could have at least mentioned it politely. When we explained the situation to the manager, she was loud and rude, insisting that we had been there too long. That was all she said. I calmly told her that we wouldn't be returning and wheeled my friend out. They should be ashamed of the way they treated us; we will NEVER be back.
