Cafe Maria Treu - Wien

The food is terrific. Real Viennese Cafe fare everything terrific and I have been coming here for years. Could not be any better place on a summer evening than sitting outside here. And the waiters are the best in the city. Stefan is just...great. He is everything great about a Viennese waiter and nothing bad. I am an American who lives in Salzburg I know what I am talking about.

We came at lunchtime to this pleasant cafe. It's very ;laid back. The waiter clearly knows many of his regulars and chats to them. Nice atmosphere. Good service. My grilled sausages with bacon were excellent, but my wife's dumplings based meal was bland and fairly...tasteless.

A terrific inexpensive breakfast. The service was good and quick, the space is bright and the food and coffee were delicious.

We dined here twice. The first evening the place was almost empty. But the waiter ignored us for at least 10 minutes while he chatted with a couple at another table, only starting to pay attention when his colleague appeared. We then had about 45...minutes wait for our food. Then we went back on a Friday night. This time it was heaving but they still had only two waiters on. This time it took 30 minutes to get noticed. We placed our order and waited another 20 minutes for drinks. Then over an hour after that we accosted the waiter. He looked confused and started desperately looking for our order on his pad. It was clear he'd not even bothered to place the order with the kitchen. At that point we gave up, paid for our drinks and left. I have NEVER had to do that before. But then I have never had a restaurant take 2 hours and still not serve me any food.

This traditional coffee restaurant offers a very nice outdoor sitting area in front of the Piaristenkirche on Jodok Fink square And a plain indoor ambiance The food is ok , desserts and sweets are good
