Honestly I was looking for more Italian options from an Italian restaurant but it seemed to be more fusion food than anything else. Dimly lit made it hard to see my friends but everyone I was with seems to really be enjoying themselves View all feedback.

Once again a reminder not to go out on holidays. $75 pp for 3 course meal on new years. The meal was horrible. Soup was cold. Duck was chewey, tiny gamey and not crisp like I reguested. Carrot cake was dry and tasteless and while leaving noticed other tables leaving their cake behind. Too bad as I have had good meals here before. My god what a disappointment for all of us. We have been several times to Ella's and it is always a delight. Our last meal was superb. For starters we had beef tartare (my son's favorite dish), mussels and frites (husband's selection with guidance from the son), and agnolotti (again at my son's suggestion). I managed to grab a few mussels and they were wonderful. My son and husband raved about the tartare. We did order a side of grilled focaccia with oil and garlic and it was filled with a great taste. We loved the oil-usually oil served as an accompaniment to bread is without much taste-Ella's did a great job on seasoning it. Because we were not that hungry after the apps, we shared a pizza and the chicken schnitzel. I consider myself an expert on schnitzel and having had it dozens of times in Germany and Austria, Ella's was just as good. Really. The Meyer lemon aioli was lovely-so too were to pickled peaches. They will be changing menus soon so I have to get my schnitzel fix in the next week or so The only thing that put a dark spot on the meal, and thankfully we were nearing the end, was a boisterous bozo at the bar talking nonsense about immigrants, Democrats, inflation. Talking points right off of Newsmax. Ugh.
My husband and I had Ella's cater our wedding this past weekend and the food was to die for! We wanted to do something different and had their wood fired pizza oven come to cater the wedding w/a package that included 4 different kinds of pizza and a salad. It was extremely reasonable for cost, they showed up right on time for the wedding, and the men who were there making pizzas and putting them out for guests were incredibly kind and quick. I got so many compliments on the quality of the food and they just kept pumping out pizzas for an hour and a half. At times, getting a response from the catering manager was slow or there was some confusion, but it all worked out in the end and Ella's is somewhere I am excited to eat at again and would recommend to others for their events!
The bartender Tayla steered us right on the appetizer, main and dessert. She was so attentive and friendly.
The oysters weren’t cut very well. Drinks are overpriced. Pizza crust was burnt. (There’s wood fired, and then there’s charcoal I got a lot of charcoal on my pizza. The music was too loud to hear the people I was with. The ambience makes it seem a lot nicer than it actually is.
Everything was great but I particularly wanted to mention the clam chowder, which was perhaps the best I have ever had. Our mistake was to order one to share. Should've each gotten our own! Next time.
