We brought a group of 15 people to the bar and made sure to tip Connor for every drink. Our party also ran a tab on the register. Unfortunately, they skipped our jukebox songs, which was frustrating. The state of the women’s restroom was concerning, and I was even approached by people in the bathroom asking about where to buy drugs. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and it seemed like trouble was brewing. I have the necessary data to support my song requests, but when someone at the bar asked to skip a song by Lily, Connor followed through and then tried to deny it later. This experience was disappointing and I cannot recommend this bar.
I asked the locals which bars would be open on Sunday at 9 PM, and everyone pointed me to Metals, the only place that stays open late. Unlike most other establishments in Wallace, they are open daily until 2 AM. It's a typical no-frills bar with a pool table and shuffleboard. Their fountain drinks and beers are just $3, which is incredibly affordable! I tend to keep it simple with my drinks, so I usually stick to whiskey and a couple of snacks. They offer a happy hour every day from 4 PM to 6 PM, where you can get $1 off food and drinks, making their already cheap $3 beer an amazing deal at just $2. If you’re looking for gourmet dishes, this isn’t the place for you, as it’s a dive bar that serves frozen snacks. However, they do have a cool fryer to prepare items like tater tots and dumplings, which is quite impressive. The bartenders are all really friendly, especially Dave, whom I saw several times during my stay. I ended up visiting this bar most days during my week in Wallace, and it's truly one of the community's main hangouts. You’ll meet lots of friendly people here who are always up for a random chat.
I stopped by this little bar after a day of fishing on the river and before heading out for a ride. Despite its small size, it does a decent job. However, the food can be a bit too sweet, and the dips feel like they're from the freezer.
I didn't order anything, just stopped by to check it out. It’s a fun little place! Atmosphere: 5/5.
