They serve fresh cannoli, wh... read more Another charming mom-and-pop gem on this wonderful street—one I stumbled upon purely by chance, and for that, I thank the universe. They serve fresh cannoli, which makes my heart sing. Ever since watching Italian Americans passionately hunt for the perfect cannoli in New York, I’ve been determined to understand what makes one truly exceptional. I already have a go-to Italian spot, but this little place may have just surpassed it in the cannoli department. The one I had was beautiful—one end dusted with the nutty, savory crunch of almonds, the other with the slightly sweeter touch of pistachio. The shop itself is utterly charming, filled with Italian treats that feel “exotic” (at least from an Asian perspective) and heartfelt family photos. And the owners? Absolutely lovely. As for the other sweets I tried—well, embarrassingly, I can’t recall their names. Which, of course, only means one thing: I’m due for another visit.
