Kitschy but authentic Mexican restaurant and bakery; a great place to eat at the Market in San Antonio. It was the best value for us all weekend. The michelada was outstanding, the salsa is fantastic, and the food came out piping hot. Added bonus, we were treated to a mariachi who sang las mañanitas for my daughter’s birthday. After the outstanding meal we picked up some delicious treats from the bakery to take home.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mi Tierra Mexican Food:
Expensive, food was subpar, portion size (of several very expensive dishes) was pitiful. We should have complained but we had just arrived in town and did not want to start a fuss. But the waitress was very pleasant, and the restaurant is joyful, colorful, and fun. View all feedback.
We went as a family to this restaurant and bakery, to have lunch and take home baked goods. It was very busy and we had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. The only part of the experience that wasn 't excellent, was the older armed security guard in the lobby that chose to go out of his way, across the lobby, to rudely confront me personally with his political beliefs, simply because he didn 't like the NRA jacket I was wearing! But that is being addressed by a letter to the security company as it is obviously not within the restaurants control. The server we had was GREAT! She answered our many questions about dishes so we could get the right items for the two small children with us. Every entree we had was marvelous. I had the Monterey Special tender young goat, which was so good that my 5 year old grand daughter kept asking for more bites! The margaritas were top notch and the Mariachis were obviously very talented/accomplished! Having two of them at our table for two songs, kept the grandkids (1 and 5) spell bound throughout their performance at our table. Given the huge crush of crowds on St. Patrick 's Day, the server, chef and kitchen crew did a remarkable job with every aspect of the dining experience. This is definitely one of those 'must go ' places in San Antonio!
Mi Tierra is open 24/7 and you can have breakfast all day. The food is very good, the service friendly ...but wait...you must visit the Bakery in the Foyer! Wow, they have so many choices of bakery goods. We love to choose a few to enjoy at our hotel in the evening.

Atmosphere was fun and festive and the food is a great value especially for the location.
We stopped by on a Saturday around lunch time. We had to wait about an hour, but we were able to roam around the market while we waited. The food was delicious with a lot of options available. Their service was a little slow, but the restaurant was full. They make their own tortillas which is always a plus in my book. *Pro tip: your waitress can get pastries for you so you can avoid having to wait In that line. Trust me, do this because that line is VERY slow.
The food was good not great Mexican but the atmosphere made up for it. The murals on the walls are amazing. Our server was also great.
