What Nichole Gerhold doesn't like about The Barell Live Public House:
Everything possible had gone wrong. It was a hazy day but I decided to sit on the patio since there was no air conditioning. Table was dirty. Than it was a way long waiting for the waitress. Good half of items in the menu was not available. Still no one had wiped the table. When finally food was ordered it took an hour to get it. My cider had a sour taste and Salad leafs were rotten. Never again! View all feedback.
Was greeted with a very warm welcome from the waitress. She was very nice and polite, brought out our drinks in less than 5 minutes. Food didn’t take much time either. And boy don’t get me started on the poutine, this place has the best fries I’ve ever had and combined with nice cheese curds and gravy you get amazing poutine here. Will be definitely returning here!
Welcoming staff and a good atmosphere. Some friends and clients came by for lunch and drinks. Perfect place to eat, drink and be merry.

Best karaoke in Toronto!Good food and friendly service! Not expensive and tasty!Good quality of music and cozy big space.
We'd never heard of The Barrel until this week when, at another local pub, the DJ announced that his karaoke debut at the Barrel was Friday night. So we showed up to check it out. Service was fantastic. We arrived at 9:30 and didn't leave until after 1:00 a.m. Our server checked on us frequently all evening and ensured that our drink glasses weren't empty. We were very pleased with drink prices $4.95 $5.95 CAD for a shot of good liquor, or $5.95 for a 5 ounce glass of nicer wine. Even a large Caesar cocktail was only $6.95. Food is served only until ten p.m. but they extended food service until eleven for the karaoke debut. The menu is fairly limited pub grub, of course. But both Hubby and our friend commented that the goulash soup was excellent $4.95. Hubby also really enjoyed his arugula cranberry salad $8.95 I think). I ordered nachos, which were a cut above those I'm used to being served at pubs. They used a nice tortilla chip combo, a nicer mix of cheeses, and fresh greens and tomatoes. The salsa was good, and the portion of sour cream was plentiful. The only disappointment was that they were out of berry cheesecake. The Barrel has a great dance floor, and we liked that the music arena is separated from the dining area because the volume doesn't get overwhelming like at other venues. The only problem we encountered was no air conditioning. I'm not sure if it wasn't working or was intentionally turned off. But they used powerful fans instead. Being that it had been a very hot day, it was a little warm inside when we first arrived. But it didn't take long to cool off after dark. We'll definitely return to The Barrel for karaoke night when we're in Toronto.
