They state that all their dishes can be made vegan, this was our first time there and thay had about 25 different dishes, so we’ll see. I had the beetroot curry and it was really, really good, with wild mushrooms (chanterelles) and tofu. Good and friendly service. The dining area was a bit untidy with unopened beer and coke boxes here and there but I think it’s acceptable if they have limited storage facilities. But minus one star for that. Will return to check out those +20 other options.

The staff is... read more Tamarin is by far the best thai food place I've been to in Helsinki region. They have a good variation on their menu and their foods are delicious. The staff is very friendly and they have good attitude towards their job. The buffet is reasonably priced and it includes the desserts.

They offer a lunch buffet that I would like to try based on my dinner experience. I ordered grapao and my dining companion had a seafood red curry. He enjoyed his dish more than I did mine, but both were still very good. The rice was slightly overcooked and lacked the strong coconut flavor I am accustomed to in the U.S. The sauce in the grapao was a bit too sweet, but the stir fry was well executed and the portion size was generous with plenty of meat, vegetables, and chilies. The house wine was good and they provided tap water at the table. The service overall was excellent.

Where the fiery is mentioned is, in a way, a deviation from Tamar’s general Finnish fiery, even the habanero and the bhut jolokia-enhancing knife (I am). Otherwise, at the restaurant, it’s quiet enough for lunchtime so that the ladies at the neighbouring table can hear astonishing fieryness, which proves that there is no such thing as a norm when promising fire. The staff is small but ystävä and active. Coffee and dessert are included in the price and the supply of lunch is extensive.
