What a place , hidden gem . We stopped here on a road tip trough Spain on the way back to Bilbao. Great choice . The staff where very helpful and accommodating. Rooms spotless. Food was 10 10 you would pay double in the UK for this . Just a nice chilled place with some nice owners staff. We will be back next year on our trip if not before. Very good value for money . Nice little treat .
Its location just half an hour north of Pamplona makes this a tempting destination. Their well deserved fame comes from their extraordinary Cuajada. Their surrounding and grounds are peaceful and relaxing but there the quality stops. The food is average and some items like their stuffed piquillos bad and their pil pil cod was too dry. Other items are unremarkable with their pochas with jamon , a peasant dish, quite the exception, very good. This place used to be a Venta on the road to and from Irun. A good truck stop them, now bypassed by the autovia. Perhaps they have not overcome well catering to that clientele and the prizes are too high for what they offer. A visit for coffee, cuajada and relaxing watching their deer herd makes it a pleasant excursion. For a serious meal stay in Pamplona's better restaurants.
