I went here for a coffee with a friend. Friendly service and overall a nice place. I didn't try their famous sicilian granita, but my friend swears by it, so I am likely to try it next time. Great selection for not alcoholic drinks as well. Surely worth a try.
I wish that would have discovered this establishment sooner; this is surely not my first visit to Udine. At Dusci you can sample real Sicilian delicacies, e.g. arancini and cannoli. If you have seen the Commissario Montalbano detective series on television, which are filmed on Sicily, you probably have seen Luca Zingaretti, who plays the commissario Montalbano, take the first bite of an arancino, cooked by his housekeeper. I know now why the heavenly expression was on the face of Zingaretti. The are delicious. Also the cannoli were to die for. I can recommend Dusci empathically.
One of the best place of Udine for having a delicious breakfast. You can have a lot of differenct kinds of Sicilian sweets and nice coffee!
Enjoy your meal at a comfortable table inside. A corner away from Piazza Matteotti open even on Sunday afternoon, opposite the fishmarket hall. Modern, simple interiour, modest prices. We had some tasty pastries for take-away that were still fresh the next day. They served good coffee as well (espresso 0.90) When we were there a local family with small children, then some tourists who fled the rain, a single man dropping in for a bite, all kinds of people enjoyed the simple but friendly athmosphere. You can also buy bottled wine and Sicilian delicacies in pretty jars.
