Wholesome options for vegetarians/carnivores; outdoor seating on quieter street; extremely affable and helpful waiter....
We were a group of 8, very friendly service especially from Guillaume who looked after us very well. We chose steak and lamb both of which were cooked well. Good value wine list too. Unfortunately no menu of the day served on a Saturday night but it was still very reasonably priced.
Tremp is off the beaten track albeit in the beautiful pre-Pyrennes. We are here for historic family reasons. We saw Restaurant Gurp was No 1 on TripAdvisor. We booked for tonight and were lucky to get in as they had a big party booked. We saw people turned away. The food was excellent. I had spinach cake with goats cheese as a starter and grilled squid as a main followed by cheesecake and red berries. My wife had salad with red peppers and Feta cheese, followed by rabbit stew with mushrooms and yogurt with honey as dessert. We both had cafe con leche and I had a beer. House wine was included. The waiter brought a bottle and left it on the table. I queried it being used to a glass of house wine on a menu del dia but he confirmed that a bottle was correct. The Menu del Dia was €15 a head and the bill was €31.50. Absolutely fantastic quality and value for money. Not many readers will have Tremp on their bucket list but if you are a walker, mountain biker or skier, it is worth a look. Restaurant Gurp is more than worth its ranking in our opinion.
El Gurp is a restaurant located in Tremp, in Costers del Segre wine region, where you can eat local dishes. We came here to taste it and I choose snails (a typical dish in Lleida region) and breaded meat, which were good. Also I ate a dessert and taste a red wine of the region, which was very good. A typical restaurant, not more.
