Very convenient location, either by car large car park or by train station just across the house . I sat in the “Salle à manger” room, which boasts a cozy and relaxed feeling. Those who wish a lighter meal or simply a couple of drinks can also sit in the “Brasserie” part or the terrace. A huge thumbs up to the tenant and her waitress for the attentive and genuinely friendly service throughout the dinner. Needless to say, everything is spotlessly clean. La Clef prouds itself on homemade dishes “fait maison” and produce from local suppliers. As starter I had the marinated trout served with a green peas mousse. Light and delicious perfect for a summer evening. As main course I chose the veal Cordon Bleu topped with a local touch, as it was filled with Tête de Moine cheese from nearby Bellelay: tasty and quite generous portion! As sweet I indulged myself with raspberry choux pastry. Interestingly the wine menu also includes several biodynamic wines. On the downside Switzerland has always had a high price structure, even in the countryside, and La Clef is no exception. The bill amounted to CHF97 admittedly not to everyone’s budget, but the excellent food and service are well worth it.
