Feedback
Just wanted an iced coffee and got a GREAT iced coffee. Service was very quick in spite of numerous customers.
It's a small shop on the corner across from the old City TV/Much Music Building. Had a Jasmine tea. Small, medium, or large were all $2.10; a very good deal!!! Loose leaf tea is used, not tea bags. It was really too hot at the beginning. Very good flavour. Only one sofa in the place with two round tables. Perhaps 4 other round tables with 2 chairs, and a bench with 4 chairs. Those working were kind, and attentive. It's in a very trendy part of town; very close to music clubs, restaurants, China Town, and on an all night trolly-car, subway line. Rock music being played; not hard, but solid.
This is part of a homegrown chain of coffee shops that are ubiquitous in the Greater Toronto Area. Their presence is also dotted across most of Canada. They compete well with Starbucks and Tim Horton's offering good coffee creations and a decent pastry selection. This particular location at the corner of Queen St. West and John St. was convenient to where I was the day I stopped in. It was in a relatively diminutive shop that fit in with the vintage feel of the area. The interior sported just a half dozen or so tables but there was also a patio that was better patronized the day I was there. The shop provided a nice décor in which to enjoy my coffee. The barista was quite polite and efficient. I just had a regular small dark roast brew and was certainly satisfied as it was smooth and flavorful. The price was quite reasonable and within expectations. The surroundings were nice and allowed me to relax in order to catch a breather.Overall, this Second Cup is up to the standards set by this chain. It offers good coffee creations to enjoy in a nice atmosphere.
During our stroll around a mall in Toronto, we decided to stop by this coffee shop for a drink and some yogurt. Despite the limited seating, we were fortunate enough to find a spot. The coffee and iced yogurt I ordered were of good quality. This shop was quite bustling and appeared to be part of a chain, as I noticed other locations with the same name nearby.
