Bar flies, locals... read more Nelson Bar is one of my favorite bars in Tijuana. A real dive that really holds it. A dying race on such a lively, popular street in downtown. Bar flies, locals, tired border workers and anyone looking for a break from the loud crowded clubs. That's the point. A killer music box. Snake tequila. Cool and friendly staff. And excellent tacos. Support this place. It is historical and has been commissioned since 1948.

Drinks were great, especially my mango margarita and the... read more After crossing the border into Tijuana and doing some touring, we picked this place for a quick lunch. Drinks were great, especially my mango margarita and the food was good too. We had chips with guacamole and shared pork and spicy beef tacos. Our server (I forgot his name) was very friendly and helpful with local info. We even had a local band play Mexican music while we ate, this was a great stop!

It’s not the most glamorous place in town, but the prices are not bad for Avenida Revolucion and the drinks were good. It’s pretty close to the border, so it’s a good place to have that “last margarita”. My girlfriend ended up taking things too far and I needed help to get her back to her hotel.
