Monkey Pants Grill - Tempe

I've been to countless karaoke bars, both good and bad, but I've never encountered a KJ as unskilled as the one who hosted on Friday night, November 26th. The drinks were quite good, and the ambiance was pleasant. However, if you're coming specifically for the karaoke, you might want to reconsider. Otherwise, you'll have a decent experience.

The restaurant promotes fresh fries but serves frozen crinkle-cut fries instead. They refused to serve our friend, who hadn’t had a drink, simply because I had one drink, and they assumed I was drunk. This is ridiculous. They denied service to both him and another friend who had only one bottle of beer. We felt discriminated against and wrongly judged. The atmosphere was very pretentious, and the bartenders and staff were unprofessional. I was tired and just trying to have some fun with a friend before karaoke, but instead, we were treated poorly because of their misconceptions about us. The bartender was half my age, which added to the feeling of being looked down upon.

During our visit to family in Arizona, we wanted to enjoy some karaoke since we've had a great time with it before. The host was fantastic, and the crowd was amazing! We can't wait to return, and everyone in our family agreed that this will become a regular part of our visits to the area!

We had Monkey wings, Fry's and some potato skins . The freshness of all three were very fresh. I would recommend the food to anyone that likes a low key atmosphere with great food and excellent service.

I?ve lived near here almost my entire time in Phoenix. Recently went with some friends for the first time in almost a year and was disappointed, hence the 3 stars. I really do enjoy this place around the holidays tho they do an excellent job of decorating.
