It was my first... read more As a chippy fan, I am trying to check all the chippies out. The Friendly Dolphin Fish and Chips is located accross the road from Sutton Station. It was my first time, so I just got a pound worth of chips to start. The chips were not greasy with a full on potato tastes strangely like crisps.

It’s simply not safe to use cash during a pandemic and the answer “we don’t have a card machine, go to Tesco ATM” doesn’t cut the mustard. Firstly my phone is no use at an ATM and I know many people pay that way now. Secondly during the whole of a 5 month lockdown a card reader couldn’t be sourced? It’s down to not wanting to pay a percentage per transaction. That’s not great. The food was okay. Chips were fine. Saveloy tasted like it had been sitting there for hours. Very tough. Reasonable prices, fresh and clean interior, Perspex around counter, very good range of drinks and the guy did apologise (once I came back for food after searching in glove box for change) The card situation must be changed though. At least put a sign up warning people. I would never have gone in had I known. Maybe that’s the point.

It 's more take-away focussed, b... read more Probably the area 's best fish and chip shop. The shop itself is immaculately clean and modern and the staff are very friendly. It 's more take-away focussed, but they do have a table where you can eat in if you wish. The fish and chios are excellent and portion sizes are big. I also appreciated the fact that the owner gave me two gherkins for the price of one as he deemed them rather small . (They seemed fine to me). Very good service and products and highly recommended.
