We love stopping by this candy shop with our kids. We mostly get jar candy in a bag which is an excellent deal for our family. The kids behind the counter are always great with our young daughters too. There used to be seating inside, which has been cleared out. That's kind of a bummer, but it doesn't mess with the aesthetics of the little candy shop. Overall, it's always a good stop. View all feedback.
What Matthew W doesn't like about Goody's:
Ice cream isn't bad but the line is somewhat crazy at most times it seems.. be prepared to wait, possibly in the sun. Service is okay, some employees are friendly, others not as much. View all feedback.
It was so good I wet my pants Amazing ice cream mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The original goodies does not look like the original goodies anymore if you want the real experience go in to Boise and visit the son 's location. Still original not this sad knock off. This is NOT the goodies I came to my entire childhood that was FULL of nostalgia, and great memories. I brought our kids here after years of talking about how goodys was one of my favorite places to visit in SunRiver. They brought spending money for the toys and candy that are now non existent. We walked in to a nearly empty, garishly ugly blue place I thought it was shutting down but I guess that 's just how they updated it. They took out the old time barstools and all the seating that used to be there. Cut WAY down on the options and flavor choices and the few pieces of candy I got from the counter were completely stale. The girl at the counter was sweet and was very sympathetic and understanding that this is NOT the same Goodys that everyone remembers and loves. I don 't know if the original owner sold it to someone who doesn 't know what they are doing? But this iconic SunRiver pillar has been shattered.
Ice cream is AMAZING here! We stopped for some ice cream and my daughters and I each got a one scoop of Vanilla. Warning! The scoops are HUGE here!! Next time I 'm definitely doing a half scoop (if they can or a kids scoop. Candy was 14.95 per pound(?! and I decided that was WAY too pricey. We went up to the front (after waiting in a line that was OUT THE DOOR!? and I saw a little basket that said '3 DOLLAR CANDY BAGS ' and there were these little variety bags of candy! They were small, but big enough to be TOTALLY worth it! We grabbed two little bags more about those in the photos : and got our ice cream. Overall, amazing. The staff could stand to be a little quicker and more polite two of the staffs members were just on their phones in the corner, laughing but the ice cream is GREAT! (pro tip, get some of the $3 candy bags and use the candy to top your ice cream
Goodys is a tradition for us because it's been there so long but it was pretty disappointing. They don't carry all of their flavors in this store mostly just the basic ones. Most of their ice cream flavors are typical strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, oreo cookie, etc. We love their coffee espresso one but the person behind the register said they don't make it anymore. Their prices are spendy $6.50 for a small scoop in a bowl and $9 for a milkshake and I wouldn't complain about the price if they were more generous with the scoop and the place had more ambiance. They cleared stuff out and painted it white so it looks really antiseptic now and they have no seating outside and only a few chairs inside. The staff seem okay but not too happy to be there but maybe they never get any breaks? It could be a lot more fun and needs someone more excited about the place to run it. They might want to get out of the ice cream business and just sell tillamook ice cream and their own chocolates? It just needs more toppings and fun stuff and feel like a candy ice cream shop!
