I attempted to secure a table at the restaurant, but it was fully booked. Instead, I returned later for two takeaway coffees. The staff member assisting us had limited English skills and appeared to be new, but was pleasant. There was some difficulty in placing our order, and a mistake was made when serving the coffees. This error was quickly corrected. Upon returning to the car, we discovered that the cups were only half full, despite ordering a medium and a small coffee. My small coffee contained only four mouthfuls, while my sister's was also underfilled. As pensioners, we lacked the energy to return to the cafe, so I later sent an email to express my disappointment. Although I have been a satisfied customer in the past, it is disappointing that I have not received a reply after 10 days.
This restaurant has the potential to be a 4-star place because of its good coffee and cake selection. However, I have been disappointed with the service on multiple recent visits. The staff was slow to seat us, take our orders, and sometimes displayed a surly attitude. The small selection of homemade options with the coffee was a nice touch.
The service was excellent and the chocolate was delicious. I highly recommend this place. The cake is also very good. There is nothing negative to say about it. If you are passing by, it is a great spot to stop. Dogs are also welcome in the café.
I took my grandson for his first chocolate milkshake and chocolate cookie, he loved it and so did I. Thank you to all the staff, old and new.
I was recommended to go here, whilst staying at a local hotel and I am so glad I did! The cakes and the coffee were delicious! A real gem of a place!
This charming café in Thame captivates with its impressive coffee and cake selection, making it a potential 4-star destination. However, visitors often encounter inconsistent service, including slow seating and indifferent staff, which detracts from the overall experience. While some patrons rave about the delectable homemade treats and welcoming atmosphere, others express disappointment over underfilled beverages and a lack of options for dietary restrictions. Despite the café's aspirations to elevate its offerings, self-importance and snobbery occasionally overshadow its charm. For now, it remains a hit-or-miss experience, promising great moments but often falling short of expectations.
