My family met for dinner for Mother's Day at Juliet, a charming neighborhood restaurant in Somerville. It has a great atmosphere and friendly service. Juliet offers a unique fusion of Italian and French cuisine, combining the rich, hearty flavors of Italian dishes with the elegant, refined techniques of French cooking. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. recommended. View all feedback.
We got 3 dishes and none were particularly good, though nothing was horrible. Would not recommend unless they make significant changes.
The food was very very very mediocre, unfortunately.
Service is exceptional, food is generally great. They recently added lunch during part of the week and it's very, very good.
Something happened. They used to make hard food well. Now they make easy food badly.I hate leaving negative reviews, but bear with me.Pissaladière anchovies infinitely too salty. Wildly unbalanced. I have a massive salt tolerance, and anything too salty for me is going to be Challenging for anyone that isn't a Clydesdale horse.Pickles served as an app, but diced? Fine, but impossible to eat.Moules frites underseasoned, thin sauce.Steak see attached. All grey, all day.Lady next to me sent the pollock back, and didn't re order. Heard someone else across the room kvetching as well. It would be nice if it was just me being precious and difficult well, it wasn't.Two stars because the front of house people were *really trying* to keep the train on the rails, and there's good stuff on the booze list.If you're in Union Square, this can't last. Sorry.
I was really disappointed. Our food took over an hour and our server was very inattentive during the time (we didn’t have water for a lot of the time). When the food final did come it was on the cold side and they accidentally gave us the incorrect dish. Our server even made a joke about how long the wait was and blamed it on a large unexpected party (why did you seat them, if you didn’t have the ability to serve them and you’re other customers in an appropriate manner) (and if you recognize it’s an inappropriate wait time bring some bread to the table, maybe a desert, an extra glass of wine… something). The food was mid, lacked some flavor but over all not bad. Given how terrible the service was it’s frustrating that there is a 20% tip automatic added. The only reason I am give three starts is because I have gotten brunch here in the past and it has been lovely.
