Brick Café Dinner - Sofia

There were no clients. The chefs were smoking cigarettes at one of the tables. No one paid us attention so we decided to leave even though we were very excited about the menu. Very disappointing but we will for sure give it another chance in a while.

Very nice place, the food is really tasty and the piano player makes the venue unique. We also like that they are dog friendly and we are dining there at least two times per week. We refer to it as our “family restaurant” :

Very slow service we waited almost an hour for a chicken soup, parlenka bread and one portion of mekitsi. I am attaching a photo of the oil dripped bread. The soup had no taste even after adding a lot of salt and pepper to it. The honey and jam were thrown into the dish with the whole packaging. I recommend you to go elsewhere.

What attracted me to the place is the pianist playing the piano. He kept on playing for at least a couple of hours. The place itself is also nice and the waiters soak a good English. Where annoyed me a bit is how slow there were at taking the order. At least I could wait patiently for 30 minutes with good music. The menu is very long as many restaurants from my experience in Sofia. The burger was nothing special.

I witnessed the people at the table next to us pay and leave full portions of food untouched. Perhaps they weren't hungry? Perhaps they were late for other plans? Perhaps they were just terrible humans wasting food? Wrong. They had taste. When everything on your plate looks the same, or you can't distinguish the taste of a potato from fish you start to realize you are in trouble. Average average food. Had to ask for a squeeze of lemon to get this piece of fish tasting of anything even if it boasts some almonds. My partner had the slightly better pork on top of potatoes swimming in oil accompanied by some sad lettuce. I say it really takes talent to make food taste this bland.
