Handi - Singapore
Handi
Description
Set in a convenient neighborhood spot, this casual eatery serves authentic North Indian fare with generous portions, wallet-friendly prices, and a homely vibe. Standouts include stuffed parathas, butter chicken, kadhai chicken, chicken biryani, dal tadka and choley bhature; vegetarian and child-friendly choices abound. Staff are friendly and attentive, though weekends get busy and service can slow. The open, fan-cooled dining area is clean and well-ventilated, but lacks air conditioning—still, consistent, home-style flavors make it a reliable repeat destination.

This is a very good Indian restaurant! The staff is friendly, and we enjoyed the mushroom masala and dal—the flavors were excellent.
We were staying at the Park Royal Hotel on Kitchener Road, just a minute's walk from Handi, and we frequently visited for our lunches, dinners, and tea. My child enjoyed the Palak Paneer, Roti/Naan, and simple Peas Pulao. I personally loved their Egg Fried Rice, which I requested with a bit of extra spice. My wife particularly enjoyed their tea. We always felt at home when dining there. I highly recommend that anyone staying near the Park Royal Hotel on Kitchener Road pay a visit to Handi, especially those from the northern regions, as Handi specializes in North Indian cuisine.
The food here is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable. If you're a fan of Desi cuisine, this is one of the best spots to visit. The seating area is open and well-ventilated with fans, making it a clean and pleasant environment. You absolutely must try their cholay bhature; it's among the best in Singapore. I highly recommend this place!
In short, this restaurant is definitely worth the price. The portions are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. I enjoy coming here regularly for dinner. Their specialties include butter chicken, Kadhai chicken, and chicken biryani. It's a place that's worth visiting repeatedly. The North Indian flavors are authentic, making me feel like I'm back in North India. Very few restaurants can match the level of Indian cuisine found here. I look forward to coming back. The only downsides are the outdoor seating, lack of air conditioning, and slightly slow service.
