I have been to multiple Slavic restaurants in Illinois. Today was my first in Cafe Belgrade. Before I even sat down iced water and menus were brought to me. This is certainly a sign of proper introduction to a good service. I ordered 5 peace Cevapi which is a traditional meal of former Yugo. Ffs if that wasn't perfection. Love this place and come here every time I'm in the city. The Burek is amazing.
I adore this cafe with all of my heart. I had their Serbian bean soup and my mouth waters even remembering it- the flavor! Their desserts are also incredible, each one looking more appetizing than the last. Being connected to a small market is also a very nice touch and overall it is a great place to go for meetings, fun dates or to just enjoy a good time with good food. First off, they have the best desserts. All types of cakes and then sweet crepes as well. The food is top quality and they give you plenty to eat. Really the portions are large here, they don’t skimp. The meat is so good, especially the spicy sausages. I highly highly recommend this place.
Amazing glimpse into the tight-knit community and culture of Serbia.
