O Forno - Sao Joao Da Pesqueira

We were very pleased to find O Forno, on a Monday evening in Pesqueira when everything seemed to be very shut. It's a typical traditional local restaurant there is a menu of sorts, with pictures (helpful if your Portuguese isn't up to much the owner speaks some English but only some), but typically there will only be 2 or 3 dishes available. Portions are very hearty indeed and the food is tasty. We asked for fresh fruit for dessert and were given a dish of delicious pineapple. For under EUR30 for the two of us, including a carafe of house wine, it was excellent value. Most other customers were locals coming in for a drink and a snack at the bar. The building is a well conserved traditional stone structure, and the atmosphere's very agreeable. Recommended.

We had lunch today at this restaurant in Sao Joao da pesqueira. It is a kind of family owned place. Good service with limited option. I honest codfish and local bread. The house wine was very good. The total price was 31 euros. Very good food.

Experiência local autêntica, com pratos tradicionais portugueses. As porções são generosas e a preço justo. O ambiente é acolhedor e familiar, o pão e a bola de azeite, cozidas em forno de lenha, são imperdíveis.

Gostamos muito, as pessoas simpáticas, a comida excelente e atendimento, fazem uma ótima escolha para o almoço o jantar. Tudo é feito em casa, até o vinho do Porto, o qual é uma delícia. Esperamos voltar pronto. Muito obrigado pela sua simpatia. Cumprimentos desde Aveiro.
