What a lovely and cozy restaurant. Lovely warm ambiance and great service. The fried chicken and catfish were amazing, and I'd even come here just for the desserts. The restaurant wasn't too loud so it was easy to have a small group conversation and we were able to get seats on Friday night. Thank you CreoLa! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We ordered the shrimp and crawfish etouffee, and shrimp creole for our entrees. We wanted to sample the jambalaya and red beans and rice so we ordered them as sides. Pretty good overall and flavorful. It was not bland and a had a very suttle spice. We also tried the hush puppies which were decent. Rice was fluffy and not gummy, red beans were perfectly boiled and the juice was a velvety texture, not runny! Etouffee was our favorite! Please try this 1!! The jambalaya was a different recipe than what we are used to and we wouldn't order again but, that doesn't mean not to try it! We would come back when we are in the area.

I made a reservation for Valentine's Day with my husband. I would not recommend this place. It might be nice but the service is horrible they took 20 minutes to get us water, another 10 minutes to ask for our drinks. The hostess wasn't helpful at all. I would book another place is San Carlos instead Service: Dine in Meal type: Other

Nestled in San Carlos, this vibrant eatery captures the spirit of Cajun cuisine with a blend of Southern charm and a festive atmosphere. Diners rave about the exceptional service and flavorful offerings, particularly the catfish, jambalaya, and notably, the gumbo. While some dishes like the beignets and French silk pie have had mixed reviews, the cornbread muffins and hush puppies consistently impress. Whether enjoying a cozy indoor setting or a breezy outdoor space, guests appreciate the laid-back vibe complemented by relaxing jazz. For those seeking a taste of authentic Louisiana, this restaurant is a delightful option worth exploring.

The service was outstanding. The food was good, though it didn't quite reach excellence. The atmosphere was quite pleasant. If you're seeking an alternative, you won't be disappointed here.

Crawfish are in season so they have a crawfish boil appetizer that just took me right back home to the south. I loved the Étouffée and we also enjoyed the Jambalaya. The Hurricanes aren’t quite as strong as Bourbon Street but sure as hell taste better. Great service.

The restaurant is quiet and charming, with soothing music and plenty of natural light in the early evening. I opted for the restaurant week menu, which offered four courses with a nice variety and generous portions. The corn hush puppies were crispy on the outside and slightly sweet, though a bit too dense compared to others I have tried in the past. The pear salad was refreshing but fell short in a few aspects, such as the overly large pieces of butter lettuce and the lack of lavender flavor in the vinaigrette. However, the fried chicken was delicious and paired perfectly with the hot sauce. The green beans were flavorful and not overcooked, and the mashed potatoes were creamy. The bread pudding was not to my liking as it was too eggy and lacked the usual spices and richness. The parking situation was confusing, with limited street parking and reserved lots nearby. Overall, I would consider returning to try other Southern classics or for a satisfying meal in a pleasant setting with friends.

I recently enjoyed the most delicious creole food at this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing! We started with the beef empanadas, which had a crunchy crust and tender beef filling. The mint chimichurri sauce was a delightful addition. I had the andouille sausage with mashed potatoes and garlic green beans, topped with a delicious mustard sauce. My husband ordered the shrimp with rice and seafood stuffing, which was a standout dish. For dessert, we tried the warm beignets and pecan pie, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxed date night, especially the beautiful outdoor seating. Thank you!

Service was excellent. Food was good but not outstanding. Ambience was pretty good. If you are looking for something different you can’t go wrong here. We’ve driven by this place a million times and have it a try on a Friday night at 6:45pm. We walked in and had our pick of tables. Service from the beginning was excellent which is so hard to find these days. I had a French 75 which was good. I’d have it again. We started with the cornbread muffins which were ok. After trying the hush puppies with the po’boy, I would choose the hush puppies. They were delicious. We split the catfish po’boy and the jambalaya. I would try the oyster po’boy. Ext time. I would order the jambalaya again. The chicken was moist and the rice was flavorful. I was disappointed in the French silk pie dessert. I expected something a little more old school that was actually a piece of pie. I’ll try the combo pie next time. We will go back again. It was good to shake things up.

They were not taking online orders so my boyfriend and I just showed up. Thought we needed a reservation but they still got us a table. The catfish w/ collared green and green beans is a must try. The jambalaya seems like he needs salt or something. The chicken that comes with it was good and salty lol so it balanced out sort of. An the Hush puppies hands down the best Ive ever had. The beignet were good but we asked for 3 and got 6

This restaurant is a reigning star in the world of Cajun cuisine, combining chic elegance with a spicy charm. Their Chicken Jambalaya is like a burst of fire that ignites the taste buds with every bite. The hush puppies are heavenly, with a crispy exterior and a tender inside. The flavors are a delightful dance of richness and boldness, creating a symphony that delights the senses. The Fried Chicken is a true pleasure, with a crispy crust and juicy tender meat. The ambiance is sophisticated yet warm and inviting, creating a welcoming atmosphere for Cajun spirits to soar and unforgettable memories to be made. If you're looking for untamed Cajun wonders, this restaurant is the place to be. Treat yourself to jambalaya, hush puppies, and fried chicken for a truly jubilant dining experience.

My cousin brought us to this restaurant for dinner. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The drinks were strong and they didn't rush us at all. We will definitely be coming back.

Really enjoyed myself here! I sat at the bar and was waited on by Aaron. Great cocktails and I started with the deep fried bacon wrapped oyters that were dynamite, then ordered the catfish with collard greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread ? Everything tasted fantastic, will definitely add this to my habits favorites list for San Carlos!

I adore this restaurant. It is very peaceful and the staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The food is scrumptious, and the drinks are both delicious and generously poured. There is ample parking available. The only downside is that there is no outdoor seating area.

The service at this restaurant was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the variety of non-alcoholic drinks available. The Cornbread Muffins were delicious and I also liked the red beans and rice. However, the Gumbo was the standout dish for me.

To start with, the food is pretty tasty. We ordered short rib and shrimp and crawfish etouffee, both are very good. But the wait time is way too long.. we waited for nearly an hour for the main entry to come, and the service is minimal. The place is not too busy at that time so not sure if the restaurant is understaffed. We probably won?t be back due to the service.

I am a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and have lived in Southern Louisiana my whole life. I speak Cajun French fluently. I heard about a restaurant that supposedly served delicious Louisiana food and decided to check it out. I visited the Creola website and read their history and reviews, but there was no mention of needing a reservation. I surprised my girlfriend with a dinner outing and we drove 34 miles to the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Despite there being few occupied tables, the hostess insisted on needing the table back by a certain time. The servers at the restaurant were all European and the food did not live up to expectations. The gumbo my girlfriend ordered was not authentic and my meal was disappointing. In my opinion, Creola needs to hire a hostess and chef from Southern Louisiana to truly capture the essence of Cajun cooking. If you're looking for authentic Cajun cuisine, I suggest checking out restaurants in Lafayette and the surrounding areas.
