As of this post, Urbanspoon lists 905 Mexican Restaurants in San Antonio, and I can positively say that I have not visited them all (But I'm working on it!!! , but I can also state with absolute certainty that this is the best Texas Mexican food I've ever had. I started out at this small little place on 78 Gibbs Sprawl by getting Tacos Barbacoa in the drive thru one evening. Once I got to the house and bit into one of these, I knew I was onto something special. Meat marinated and cooked perfectly. I have been back several times now, have tried something different each time (including the whole fish which was amazing and have been thoroughly pleased every time. The key difference here is that all the food items are carefully marinated or seasoned and treated with utmost care. Atmosphere is basic Taqueria but comfortable. Service always comes with a friendly smile and is earnest. Everything is cooked fresh, so the wait time is a little longer than usual, but worth every minute. Prices are as low as they come most meals are $5.99 or 6.99. $9.99 is a high dollar meal here. (huge killer glass of true Mexican Ceviche!!! Parking is easy and they have drive thru. I'm sure I could start a huge debate on which place has the best Mexican Food, but I really feel everyone should add this one to thier list. You'll be glad you did!!!
All I can say is yummy lol
