So many friends, it went very well. The owner offered us an assortment of appetizers and first to satisfy the desires of all: excellent result! Moscardini, sauté di cozze, lumachine... all very good. The first impeccable (excellent taste of sea lupins) and a plause for the assortment of sweets. I tasted a tortine of the Jewish-Roman culinary tradition delicious!

We went yesterday, December 22nd, 4 of us for dinner. We are in what 50 years ago was a neighborhood pizzeria and which has been Approdo 56 for almost 4 years. The menu (which we are told changes at least 4 times a year) features 5 starters, 5 first courses and 5 second courses, without overdoing it. We decide to take 4 of the 5 starters and split them, to try a bit of everything. Chef Pietro 's cooking idea is immediately clear: everything is based on the freshness of the catch, which is 'manipulated ' as little as possible, but enhanced by non-trivial and well-reasoned combinations (for example; maccheroncini with cuttlefish, courgettes, mint and pecorino), or prepared as at home, but 40 years ago, triggering childhood memories (broken spaghetti with sprig broth and broccoli, or calamari with peas). Among the starters: standing applause with smoked herring with red onion and apple. In the dining room Luca is discreet and thoughtful. Even the choice of wines follows the same philosophy: little-known gems, but of quality, with a lot of organic (from north to south Italy) and some French on the menu, with very honest mark-ups. Very generous portions and very honest prices complete the picture of a restaurant that is really worth visiting. Well done!
