The food was excellent, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. However, the service is quite slow, so don’t expect a quick meal.
The food was fantastic, but the drinks weren't great. I tried the Purple Rain cocktail, and it tasted more like sweet grape Kool-Aid. However, the Bourbon syrup was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the waffle and bacon—I could have eaten more! I will definitely return, but I'll be sticking to the food and skipping the drinks next time.
*Sigh* I really hope it was just a bad day for them, but the service left a lot to be desired. My coffee didn’t arrive until my food did. Speaking of food, my waffle was served a full 10 minutes before the rest of my meal, which consisted of bacon and eggs. The other person with me waited an additional 10 minutes after my meal arrived for theirs to come. No refills were offered, and even though we were the only two customers there, it felt like the kitchen was overwhelmed! On the bright side, I can say the food itself was quite good—except for the grits. I have NEVER seen grits like those; they looked more like cauliflower rice mixed with corn. I'm still not entirely convinced they were actually grits. This was after the waiter assured us that their grits were smooth. Nope, not at all... they were definitely chewable, which isn’t how grits should be. I really hope this was just an off day because I want to support this place. They just need to step up their game.
Best chicken waffles I've ever had! Great dining experience, fantastic food, I recommend to everyone! The location can't be beat, nice art across the street and a short walk to other great sites, including the capital building. I even walked across theriver (on a bridge, of course ???? to Legends Brewing once, but I can't say I'd recommend it on a hot day if you have to get towork later. The heat/humidity steady breeze increased my hair volume by probably 500%! Coworkers thought I just spent atthe salon, so maybe it wasn't that bad of an idea after all. ???? I was so worried about this small business making it through2020, and I am SO happy they are still open. I will stop in as often as I can. Live jazz is always a good vibe, if you can get atable. ????????
My first time visiting for brunch was amazing! The staff was very friendly attentive. They have an amazing menu with many options creative meal names. Mimosas were tasty although I wasn’t a fan of the alcohol choice and there are no otheroptions. Their belgian waffle has the perfect taste texture. The home fries are THE BOMB they season them without salt. Myonly complaint is the benches in the booths were very unconfirmed. Will be back soo!
