On a couple of occasions rec... read more We have been regulars at Cedric's for a number of years had always found it to be a really good restaurant experience in every way. On a couple of occasions recently, however, there just wasn't that sparkle of class or excellence in the food....Dishes were less hot, less tasty, less fresh, less classy than before. Last week, we decided to give Cedric's another chance. Everything was back to its old standard! The staff were attentive, the food was superb (I had lamb on a skewer with mediterranean vegetables) and everyone was happy. Our waiter was very pleasant, wanting to try out his English on us, keen to make sure everything was the way we wanted it to be. I can again thoroughly recommend Cedric's as an excellent restaurant in Ratingen. Guten Appetit!

I have had dinner at Cedrics over the past 20 years and last night was the absolute worst: very slow service from a waitress...who was obviously not professionally trained (which you would expect at a higher end restaurant in Germany) and the food was mediocre at best. I have also had absolutely perfect service and excellent dishes in the past, but it is really hit or miss. We were a party of 7 last night and the restaurant was not crowded. It took 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive and the waitress never came by to let us know or apologize for the length of time. My sautéed mushrooms were gummy and I only received part of my meal. My husband's skillet meal was toxically salty. When we ordered dessert, the first one arrived very quickly, while a second order took 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress was not around when we needed something and it took too long for her to reappear. The only reason I continue to go to this restaurant is because my 90 year old mother likes it and has nice memories of family events at this restaurant. I am not planning to go back again though.
