Went for lunch and thought we would try the dish of the day. Choice of chicken stew or fried fish with rice and beans. We went for the fried fish. Big mistake. It was awful. Bits of fish with terrible taste, could not eat it....The restaurant was packed and people were picking their fish from a counter so perhaps we made a mistake. We were charged 17 euros. Think this might have included wine but we had water. It may... View all feedback.
With a group of 10 friends. that was nice to eat. the plates returned empty. starter, main meal, appetizers and 2 jugs house wine. beer and non-alcoholic beverages. total invoice €156.00
I visited the Skydive Center in alvor, alone and thought I would try. good decision! no ruffle tavern. excellent eating, especially the fish from which there was a great choice, cooked out and over coals. they also make a...hearty Portuguese style steak. the personal was friendly; they got the impression that they are very happy. a few of the teams speak pretty good English. I went back to eat the next two nights. there were many Portuguese, but I was the only brite.
They talk about a little taberna, doesn't look like much from the outside, but they go to the grill on the way in, and the dinning room is nice and comfortable. had fresh fish (no warning, which type! lol we just let the...Kook choose for us) and it was delicious.

Well-reviewed so gave it a go as it was our local eatery for a month and had a pretty good meal for 8.50€each red bream(2) for me and tuna for my wife. Served with salad and delicious new potatoes, having enjoyed a dish of...olives and very good bread. Wine (1/2 litre of red) came too. All was cooked fresh and served by helpful friendly staff.
