The place was maintain by the royal family themself not by the government. so all the stuff and historical thing not maintain very well. But still u can learn the pontianak history here. View all feedback.

The Istana gives a mixed impression: a large majestic building, but it does not impress. Probably because the environment is not well maintained. Was too early and istana still closed, but had a walk around the veranda. Images paint a thousand words. Anyway, a must to visit when in Pontianak. And preferably during opening hours.
The environment is not so clean around the palace. I think the local government doesnt take a good care of this place.. I dont even need a ticket to enter the palace area.. There is a man whom I think is a guide there but more into the only one who cares this cultural building. He was friendly and nice..
