Was Rhoda Herzog at Morganfield's a mag?
If you are craving for steaks ribs, you better try those here!!! Tried this first in Singapore and because it was too good, I tried it here in the Philippines. I ordered the same: the BBQ Hickory Spare Ribs though it was too dry for me so I asked for an extra BBQ sauce. I also ordered their Herb Roasted Chicken but it was too dry, too and their Smoked Peppercorn Spare Ribs (if you want anything spicy, you must try th... View all feedback.
What Sigbjartur Jespers dislikes about Morganfield's:
Our college group always meet at Ayala the 30th when we do mini-reunions. No specific reason except that it's convenient for everyone. That's about it. So, when we met again recently, the same problem popped out: where to eat. Out of the blue I said, Morgansfield's. Why? I just saw the signage when I excused myself to go the toilet. Like zombies (meaning, juicy gossip is more a priority than early dinner, get it? , w... View all feedback.
They are offering buy one take one for Stella Artois and Hoegaarden for Php215. Same beer though, so my friend was game to order Stella Artois then I ordered Hoegaarden. You can probably do the same thing if you guys want ????
I love it here. The friendly atmosphere. The diner noise. Funny tv shows. This one is a nice place to go. Armed with mini apron bibs we devoured the ribs sampler platter and dude I am more than full. With their refillable drinks I feel like I am in a pork paradise. Would love to commend Jessy for being a top notch server knowledgeable of the menu and delightfully attentive. One of the best ribs I tried. The corn muffin is really good. Wanna go back right now. foodguideph.com
Morganfield's is another international franchise specializing in ribs... This actually hails from Malaysia, a country you don't automatically associate with ribs and sausages. But, don't knock it til you've tried it. I have enjoyed their Uptown Mall and MOA branches before, but this time we were at the newly opened Ayala Malls the 30th branch for a double celebration. There were 22 of us sitting in the middle of the restaurant. 4 of us came in late and the rest of the group were already enjoying the sesame shrimp salad and the spicy chicken wings. I honestly didn't like either appetizer, so our mini group decided to order chili cheese fries. Big groups are made for Morganfields because of their shareable platters. This comes with a mixture of ribs, sausages and sides, depending on your preference. Being meat lovers, we ordered the Ribs Sampler and each element included in the platter was enjoyable. Being a big group, we also ordered their garlic sticky bones which was just delicious! Their Iberico Baby Back Ribs were likewise a hit-- we tried both Jim Bean and Jack Daniels version (as a base for the sauce) and I do prefer the Jack Daniels version. But I don't think you can go wrong with either. Everybody had their own drink and I enjoyed my mojito and then a beer. I love how varied their drink selection is... Problem was the chili cheese fries appetizer we ordered came right after all the ribs were served, which was very very annoying. After multiple follow-ups, no less. They could have at least warned us that it takes like an hour to cook fries or something. Mind you, it wasn't that good either. Skip the above mentioned appetizers and go for their potato skins or crab & spinach dip instead. Those are pretty delicious.... Note that their really expensive kids meal is pretty sad looking. The toddler didn't eat much of it actually, leaving more than half of the hotdog untouched. That's sad for P195, because the cheaper happy meal beats it anyday. We ended the very heavy meal with their Volcanic chocolate lava cake. Desserts are not their strong suit, to be honest. I would give the ribs a solid four... No question about it! I also appreciate the very varied menu offerings. But the problem was the service, the late appetizer and the constant follow ups. The relative "newness" of the establishment might have something to do with that, so hopefully it improves with time. What's not so easy to change and yet very bothersome was how hot the place was. Everyone was sweating, as evidenced by our group picture. The toddler we were with had to be changed because his clothes were drenched with sweat. No too comfortable inside the restaurant especially in this weather. We didn't have this problem at their other branches...
I had the best impression of morganfields last night. Surprisingly, there were not many customers in this industry, although it is payday. it was calm and we really have to enjoy our meal. I love the woody thema of the place to look very pleasant. the carnivore plate that was recommended was so satisfying. the ribs were supple, as well as the bun. both have different aromes that can be costed on the inside, also love the engraving mix. the dressing for the salad tasted a bit. her Banana split was the best! so frothy, so well mixed. highly recommended! the fries flattered like childhood, a little salty. the sausage was delicious! the staff...read more
