3 of my girlfriends had a combined birthday lunch here and it was amazing.12.30 lunch we must have spent a good 40 minutes chatting at the balcony taking pics and enjoying cocktails. We did not feel rushed at all by the staff. We ordered 2 course lunch with matching wines. The meals were all amazing - except for the one friend who did not like her matched wine with her entree. The food and the views were amazing. The waiter took time to explain the wine chosen with our particular meal. For a treat or special occasion you cannot beat this place..
What a treat! Overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean above Whale Beach sits this stunning restaurant with seafood to die for! We were there for lunch on a stunning clear day. Ate the Seafood Platter among other things. Delicious fresh seafood as good as I've ever tasted. The staff were amazing - attentive but not too over the top. This is Australian food and location at it's best! Make sure you save room for dessert! Next time I'm staying in the accommodation on site so I can have breakfast as well!
We chose Jonahs for a special occasion after 2 pairs of us had recent good experiences there. The views are fabulous and the day was glorious but time and again in our near four hours there the service failed. We had to chase someone down to be able to order pre-dinner drinks on the balcony. The ferociously expensive "matched" wines did not come with the meal, even after multiple reminders (indeed the first course matched wines came long after that course was finished - rather defeats the purpose). When a glass sprang a leak, the staff implied they were not going to serve a replacement because some had been consumed. The second course meals arrived before the first course plates had been cleared. When you are paying something like $180 a head you expect much better. The food was mostly good but the three who had the fish of the day all agreed it was a bland and uninteresting meal. A slice of lemon might have zinged it along. And what is the fascination with kale. White or green, it is inedible.I don't think we'll be back to Jonah's ever again.
