We booke... read more The Oberstdorfer Einkehr was always our favourite restaurant in Oberstdorf with its authentic Schwaben menu. It was always a special treat to go there. We booked a table tonight a Friday and were amazed we could get a table! As it is always booked up....Sadly the ownership has changed and the restaurant is not up to the same standard. It is just average now where before it was always excellent. The attention to detail has gone. We loved the traditional touches and high standard of service. The food is no better or worse than any average restaurant in Oberstdorf.

One of the things that's good is that there is plenty of room between tables so you're not listening to somebodies conversation. I picked a herring starter that really is...a main couse but they gave me a smaller version. Then I had venison which was really good. Some nice wine at a reasonable price rounded it off.
