The restaurant was just about... read more First time to this restaurant and not sure if I would go back. Two of us ordered the lobster bisque soup and it was warm at best. The restaurant was just about empty and yet the air conditioning was blasting. We had to ask 3 times to raise the temperature, even threatened to leave. I had the swordfish it was a little over cooked otherwise good. Three Cappuccinos servered warm not at all hot. Our waitress was here and gone, three times we had to ask one of the other servers to get her. The one good thing about the restaurant is the overall view which you can enjoy from any table

It was the first time there for 3 of our guests, though my husband I have been there many times. Our location was not good only 1 of us enjoyed their food. We won’t be back.

Our guests would... read more Just wanted to give my highest recommendation and review of the View in Oakdale for our wedding reception/venue spot. The food was outstanding. Our guests would not stop talking about how great everything was and my wife and I were overly impressed withhow amazing everything came out. Everything from the cocktail hour, to the main course, to the cake from Rolling Pin Bakery,just unbelievable. We even got to choose Surf Turf as one of our entrees and it was so delicious! Working with Jimmy, Joe, andJen was so easy for us as a couple. We didn't have a wedding planner, and my wife and I did everything on our own, but with thehelp of Jimmy Jen, our day couldn't of went smoother and they took the burden off of us and definitely made the planning asstress-free as possible. They took the time to listen to what we envisioned the day looking like and we were fortunate enough tohave the entire restaurant to ourselves since we chose a date in their off season. It was decorated beautifully for theholidays, and they even let us pick and choose which decorations to keep and which we could put away for the day. Their newoutdoor space is now covered with heaters and it made for the perfect dance floor/cocktail hour spot and with the lighting andhanging flowers that we added, it was just truly magical. We cannot thank the View and their staff enough for theirprofessionalism and the amazing experience that they were able to give us for our special day. It was worth all the wait afterbeing postponed almost a year and a half due to COVID. So if you are an LI bride looking for a waterfront venue with amazingfood ambiance, the View is the place for you.

Also, the French fries were outstanding as well. I look forward to cominghere for dinner next time.
