We visited at noon when it was bustling, but we didn't have to wait at all. The service was excellent; our server checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was satisfactory, and our meals were delicious. It's easy to understand why this restaurant is so popular. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nicks114cafe:
I ordered the crab cake and butterflied shrimp. This came with a side of apple sauce and fries. The French fries were terrible. The fries were hard and had the taste and texture of potato chips. The 2nd side of apple sauce was trashed. I initially thought the shrimp ? was under seasoned. However after dipping the shrimp in the cocktail sauce I understood why the shrimp was lightly seasoned. The atmosphere at Nick's has shifted recently. It feels like there’s a younger staff that may not have the same high standards as before. However, the food remains quite good. For lunch, the average cost per person is around $20–30. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as 4 out of 5.
This place was okay. It was more like a sports bar which was great for my husband. The wings were hands down amazing. I ordered a buffalo chicken Philly. The chicken was beyond dry. They added Buffalo sauce but it didn’t help it was really dry and chewy; the bun was toasted but also a little dry. We also had a meatball sub that was average, could have used a little more sauce. Kid 1 had Mac and cheese which came with no side. Looked like your typical boxed mac which is what most kids like but for the price would have liked to see the creamy version. The other kid had the kids’ burger. It actually looked pretty good and had a nice brioche looking bun and came with fries. She enjoyed it. Other than that, the atmosphere was fine, it did take a while to get seated and it wasn’t overly full. Would also be nice if they had coloring pages for the kids since it’s advertised as a “family friendly” restaurant.
My friend I had lunch there recently 9/27/23....we both got the crab tacos. WOW! So delicious! I didn't think I'd care for seafood in a taco.Wrong! Also, the MD crab soup is very delicious!! Crab tasted fresh...Server Sue was very nice, friendly professional. My name is Tim from HBG. I don't know a Soul who owns or works there. I'm simply a customer. Service: Dine in
