It felt and was a warm and friendly atmosphere. Food was some of the best we had in Munich. Staff were fantastic. Puddings are limited in choice and one is strange (pottatoes). Went in for a drink and went back because...of the Menue. The schnitzel I had and the steak my wife had were fantastic. And the apple fritters and kaiserschmarrn were fantastic. It was these I wanted and went back for and was not disappointed. There is only one down side to this place. It is a long way from home to make a regular eating place. The next visit to Munich we will return.

The restaurant has a cozy Bavarian interior and is within walking distance of Berg am Laim train station. In addition to large tables, there are small tables for 2-4 people, which we particularly like as a couple. We were warmly welcomed and looked after attentively. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. In summary: Service, friendliness, ambience, quality and price easily deserve all the stars to be awarded. Unfortunately we are only in Munich for a short visit, otherwise we would definitely visit Baumkirchner quite often. We wish the Baumkirchner team all the best!
