The food is so good, light and fresh. The outdoor seating at night is a cool vibe.
Saturday night: Made a reservation for outside and was told there was no seating outside when we got to the restaurant. So, we sat inside with many open tables close to the bar. It was 7 minutes before a hostess came by and how we were doing, just waiting for the waiter we said. Waiter served us water while we waited for cocktails and bone marrow appetizer. Salads , entrees and desserts and more cocktails were enjoyable flavors, served attractively, and great temperature. Is it normal to not have Tanqueray in the bar inventory on a Saturday night? That's what the waiter said. I know we spent $300 and I was disappointed the bar is not stock appropriately.
Not what we were expecting after things we had heard about Odeum. There 's a saying that great service can make up for mediocre food, but great food cannot make up for mediocre service. The latter was true for us during our first ever visit toOdeum. The food was amazing, but the service was very poor. In mu opinion this is what happens when automatic gratuity of 20%is added to EVERY check. The waiters don 't have to be good or give good service because they get paid the same no matterwhat. Amazing food can he found at counter service places so when one dines at a table service place the experience and theservice is part of the expectation. Waiter didn 't know much about the menu and just stood there waiting for us toorder. Appetizer and salad didn 't come out at the same time even though we asked for them too. At least 15 minutes inbetween. Then they bring my wife 's entree but not mine. Another 10 minutes go by with waiter nowhere in sight so we had to asksomeone else where my entree was. Turns out they gave it to another table and no one bothered to tell us. Once it finallyarrived it was delicious, but $130 for dinner for two with service like that is not an experience we 're likely to repeat.
A lot of new faces at Odeum but of course Chef Calisi familiar face is always behind the counter. There is new management with an amazing front of the house and host staff to greet you as you come in. Gorgeous renovations have been made to the heatedpatio and cozy dining room. Reservations are suggested but come get a drink at the bar if you have time. Mixologist are readymake any drink possible with the spirits they have on hand.
