As we were staying in the Southbank area of Melbourne, we arranged to meet up with my cousin and her family for breakfast. In total there were four adults (one vegetarian) and three small children (6, 3 and 1). Just before we had arrived a large group had already ordered their food - and we were informed that they'd be a slightly longer than normal wait because of this, which wasn't a problem - and showed good commun... What User doesn't like about Riverland:
lage is everything I can say is for this place unfortunately positiw. I was very excited about the late lunch at the arrival in melbourne. my meal of "roasted vegetables" was disappointing, pumpkin raw on places certainly not roasted maybe a fast grill. also not. hardly warm. the look or taste of the roasted fennel could not recognize. also disappointed by the employee's response, who wanted to argue that the pumpkin... Just before we had arrived a large group had already ordered their food - and we were informed that they'd be a slightly longer than normal wait because of this, which wasn't a problem - and showed good communication if nothing else. And the food was absolutely worth waiting for! The twist on the classic eggs benedict was absolutely superb. Overall the service was just as good as the food, staff were polite, friendly and accommodating to meet the needs of our group. Would definitely recommend this place for a decent breakfast!
Love this place. The setting on the river is amazing, with a really good vibe. Outdoor heaters keep you nice and toasty and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Couples, groups, families, locals and tourists all enjoying a drink and or food. No rush, stay as long as you like. We popped in for a drink on the first evening and I really didn't want to leave but we had dinner reservations. After the Aussie rules footie the next day we found ourselves walking past it again so popped in, and stayed for the best part of the evening. The MAC and Cheese croquettes, delicious and very moreish, as were the ribs. It's not gourmet dinning, just honest hearty fare, at a good price.
On a cold, wet day, I found Riverland, giving a break out of the hustle and bussle of Federation Square near the city. Perfect to chill out and relax for a time while enjoying the river views, choices in the menu in both food and drinks. Gluten free options available and a heater if you need warming. My meal was delicious. If you have time , go for a stroll along the board walk.
After a great evening at a adjacent outlet, we crossed this place. The music and ambience was tempting. Had a few beers and some food. Was tasty too. Wish we had more time to spend here. But would recommend to visit.
